Weight loss by hypnosis - Is hypnosis effective for weight loss?

Is hypnosis effective for weight loss?
Hypnosis can help to shed some extra kilos when used in conjunction with other methods of weight loss, as diet and exercise. But there is not enough solid scientific evidence on hypnosis for weight loss, to recommend for or against.

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness, usually achieved with the help of a therapist through verbal repetition and imagery. When you're under hypnosis, your attention is very focused and is more sensitive to suggestions, including changing behaviors that can help you lose weight. After proper instruction, you can also try self-hypnosis to lose weight. Weight loss by hypnosis is often combined with cognitive behavioral therapy.

Hypnosis as an aid to weight loss

Losing weight may well be a difficult task. It requires changes in activity levels and some modification of the diet. There are a lot of help to assist us in our quest for a leaner body from the supplements to the expensive equipment. Probably the highest attendance in helping you shed those pounds is hypnotherapy. Hypnosis has been around for thousands of years. This deep state of consciousness has helped heal many types of diseases of many people.

Some people are skeptical about hypnosis, but in fact it has been estimated that over 90% of people can be hypnotized. Also we have all experienced some form of hypnosis almost every day. For example, when watching a movie we're actually in a trance, as we become absorbed in the story seems so real that we can be even more terrified at the scene. We all know it's a movie, however, react as if it were real. We feel the emotions that usually feel if you really happen to us.

Hypnotherapy can have some effects of great help to overcome problems. Some people use it to stop smoking, eliminate fears, phobias or to build confidence. For diet, hypnosis can not help someone lose weight by simply changing the patterns of thought, which is like swallowing a pill and wake up 30 pounds lighter. However, what hypnosis can do is to help improve diets in other areas that have an indirect effect on weight control, hypnotherapy can help:

•    Cut emotional eating
•    Easier to control appetite
•    Stop cravings for sweets or junk food
•    Change the thoughts of how you feel about food
•    Enhancing motivation for exercise
•    Building a belief that one can achieve weight control
•    Believe that healthy foods are as good or better tasting junk food
•    Build confidence to join a local gym

Hypnotherapy has the potential to help some people lose weight, especially those who have not had success with many other diet programs. Self hypnosis is an effective weight loss technique used by some endurance athletes to help them achieve higher levels of fitness. Self hypnosis can also be a great tool for people who struggle along with diet and weight loss.
Personal therapy can be a bit expensive, but now you can buy tapes and videos to listen in the comfort of your own home.

Personally, I don't think that hypnosis can help us to lose those extra pounds... I don't believe in this kind of things.
A weight loss Toronto training program is much useful and it has really great results... I say this from my own experience, because I've gained a slim, fit body with its help.
